Monday, José del Castillo Saviñón, the Dominican Minister of Industry and Trade, warned that if the process of dialogue between the Dominican Republic and Haiti concerning land transport ban on 23 products by Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15156-haiti-notice-import-ban-by-road-of-certain-products-from-dr.html failed, the Dominican Republic, in addition to the complaint already filed with the World Trade Organization (WTO), will bring the matter before other international organizations "We are now in a process of dialogue that we have to run out, if the dialogue does not work, then the Dominican Republic will see what agencies and what actions to take to make know to Haiti that it violates international agreements and the lifting of the ban is required."

Furthermore, the Minister Saviñón has indicated that officials from both countries will meet again in the coming days on this sensitive issue.

Regarding the claim against Haiti, Morga Claris, the WTO Representative in the Dominican Republic, said that the Dominican complaint has no date to be processed at present, the international body having other pending cases in progress.
