An increase in rainfall in several departments across the country has reduced water deficit. However, rains are always erratic in the southern peninsula accusing deficits ranging from 50 to 200 mm in mid-October.

Poor harvests in progress and planned for the months of December and January and planned assistance programs for October-December, would lead to a reduction in the number of people food insecurity. Although beneficial, their effects will not allow switching to a better phase of the IPC classification for the area.
