Lesly Condé, the Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago makes a point of reminding the Haitian community as a whole that Wednesday, November 18, 2015 brings the 212th anniversary of the Battle of Vertières, which did honor to the entire black race.

The Consular Mission, as part of its commitment to accompany all Haitian community organizations in their efforts, joins the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti and other local organizations to commemorate Saturday, November 21, 2015 this important date in the history of our country.

This event will be held from 7:00 pm to the local Kizin Creole located at 2311 W. Howard Street, Chicago (Illinois). On the program: several speakers, patriotic songs, poems, musical entertainment. A snack and refreshments will be offered.

Moreover, Sunday, November 22, the faithful of all religious denominations are invited to a Mass to be celebrated in memory of our martyrs of Vertières.

After the religious ceremony at 5:30 pm at the Church of Our Lady of Peace located at 7801 South Jeffrey, Chicago, a reception will be offered in the basement of the church.
