The Embassy of France in Haiti hails the ratification Wednesday by the Haitian Parliament https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19986-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html of the Universal Climate Agreement adopted in Paris on 12 December 2015 at the end of COP21.

With this vote, Haiti joins the list of 127 countries representing more than 81% of global greenhouse gas emissions that have already ratified this historic agreement that entered into force on November 4, 2016. "This positive step reflects the commitment of Haiti to work towards sustainable development and enable it to benefit from increased support to implement the climate change adaptation measures foreseen in its national contribution, in particular through the Green Fund for Climate.

France welcomes this progress that offers new perspectives for working together on key climate issues for the country."
