iciHaiti - Anse du Clerc : Towards the rehabilitation of the National School
Friday, a joint delegation of Happy Heart Funds (HHF) and the Dr. Louis G. Lamothe Foundation (FLGL) traveled to Anse du Clerc to explore with local authorities and community stakeholders the feasibility of the rehabilitation of the National School and other schools affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, member of the FLGL Board of Directors and Petra Nemcova of HHF first visited the National School of Anse du Clerc nd the fishermen's village, destroyed 80% before traveling to Paradis des Indiens in Abricots, on request of Mayor Jean Louis to meet with Michael de Verteuil about the situation of several schools affected by Matthew.

The delegation, accompanied by the President of the Board of the Municipal Sections (CASEC), walked to Ramon to take note of the destruction of the National School by Hurricane Matthew. About 135 students in this community can no longer go to class.

Happy Heart Funds and the FLGL will maintain a constant dialogue with the local authorities of the commune of Apricots as well as the school principals in order to work towards the rehabilitation of several of these schools.
