iciHaiti - DR : Voluntary return of Haitian cane cutters

During the month of June 2017, the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) in the Dominican Republic, informs having handed to the Haitian authorities at the Jimani border post, 323 Haitian cane cutters who decided to return voluntarily to Haiti, after completing their contract as daily worker in Barahona.
On the instructions of Lieutenant General Maximo William Muñoz Delgado, Director of Immigration and with the mediation of the "Consorcio Azucarero Barahona" 7 buses were made available to these workers and a truck to transport their belongings.
The return to Haiti was done in coordination with the Haitian authorities, the DGM and the Army of the Dominican Republic (ERD).
