Haiti - Security : Chile has completed its withdrawal from Haiti

The ship "LSDH-91 Sargento Aldea" left Cap-Haïtien on June 29 for Chile with the last contingent of 55 soldiers and the equipment of the armed forces deployed since 2004 within the framework of the Mission of stabilization of the United Nations in Haiti (Minustah).

LSDH-91 loaded some 629 tons of goods in Haiti (586 tons in Cap-Haïtien and 43 tons in Port-au-Prince), consisting of 91 vehicles, including armored personnel carriers "Famae Mowag Piraña 6x6" Mercedes-Benz 1017A and Kia KM 250 military trucks, light-duty vehicles, light trucks and trailers, and 15 containers of weapons, communications systems, medical equipment and clothing belonging to the Army, Navy, Air Force and Joint Chiefs of Staff (Estado Mayor Conjunto - EMCO).

The "Sargento Aldea" made an operational stopover on 1 and 2 July in Panama and is expected to arrive in Valparaiso in Chile on July 15th.
