The Haitian Concertation for Migrants 2017 (CHPM2017), a group of stakeholders, leaders of organizations, representatives of associations and entrepreneurs mobilized to ensure the active and concerted participation of the Haitian community in the arrival of Haitian migrants from the United States since the summer of 2017, met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on issues related to the arrival of asylum seekers in Canada.

At this meeting, CHPM2017 welcomed Canada's efforts to meet its obligations under the Geneva Convention and thanked the Canadian authorities and all Canadians involved in this effort.

During this meeting was discussed :

- The establishment of a pan-Canadian information campaign to counter the rise of the discourse of intolerance and extreme right groups;

- The importance of respecting the obligations of Canadian and Quebec authorities to asylum seekers and refugee status;

- The file processing time for asylum seekers ;

- Consider a comprehensive resolution for those holding the Temporary Protection Status (TPS)
