iciHaiti - Tourism : Reopening of Milot's kiosks
Monday at Milot, after a working session between Émilie Jessy Menos, the Minister of Tourism, the Mayor of Milot, Jacques Bernardin, his deputies, Councilors of the Town Hall and members of the Civil Society of Milot, the kiosks serving tourists at Milot and used to pay royalties, closed since March 2, have been reopened.

Recall that following a decision of the Municipal Council, the mayor had proceeded with the help of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), at the closing of the reception kiosks of tourists who are used to collect royalties of the National Historical Park, because these recipes did not provide any benefits for the commune, while at this time of the year, more than 1,000 visitors frequent the site daily.

During this closure visitors and tourists were able to continue to visit the National Historical Park (Citadel, Sans Souci, Ramier), without paying anything ...

Minister Menos and Mayor Bernardin have agreed to work on the implementation of a management system that will meet the needs and wishes of the various parties involved on the site as well as park visitors.

It was agreed as a first step to prepare the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by mid-April establishing the terms of the cooperation between the Central Administration and local authorities for the improvement and sustainability of the services offered to visitors.

In addition, a Commission has been established for the elaboration of a larger Memorandum of Understanding on the management of the National Historical Park which includes the Citadel, the Palais Sans-Souci and Ramiers.
