According to a report of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), teams of inspectors, supervisors and agents of the DGM, with the support of members of the Dominican army and the national police, as well as representatives of the Public Ministry, 225 foreigners (mostly Haitians) were controlled on the same day of several simultaneous migratory operations in the Mgr Nouel Province (Central Cibao) more specifically in the sector El Cruce del Abanico, El Ocho, Los Transformadores, Los Quemados, Villa Liberación, Piedra Blanca, Maimón, Palmarito and other parts of the city of Bonao, capital of this province.

Moreover 291 other Haitians were controlled in the communities of Vallejuelo, Las Matas de Farfán, Pedro Corto and in several areas of the urban area of the city of San Juan de la Maguana. After verification, 198 of our compatriots (171 men and 27 women) were transferred to the border point of Elías Piña to be registered and deported to Haiti.

In addition, on Friday morning, members of the Dominican army arrested a minibus carrying 24 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation in Santiago de los Caballeros. The driver Ramón Antonio Rodríguez Gutiérrez was arrested and accused of migrant smuggling. The 24 Haitians were handed over to the DGM to be deported to Haiti.

Recall that these control operations, which are increasingly frequent were conducted after intelligence work carried out in communities, following denunciations (more and more frequent), which allowed to locate the Haitians.
