The Directorate General of Migration (DGM), informed that its teams composed of inspectors and agents of the DGM with the support of the military personnel and representatives of the Public Ministry of the Province, proceeded to the migratory control of 260 Haitians in different communities of the Province of San Pedro de Macorís (70 km south-east of Santo Domingo): Guayacanes, Juan Dolio and San José de Los Llanos as well as different sectors of the municipality of Cabecera

These operations were carried out following intelligence work with the population, which made it possible to locate the Haitians.

As a result of this process, 100 Haitian nationals in irregular migration situations were transferred to Elías Piña to be registered by Migration Services prior to their deportation to Haiti.

One of the Haitians was handed over to the authorities of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) for legal follow-up, after having found in his possession 109 doses of crack and 67 of marijuana.
