iciHaiti - USA : Grant of nearly $25K to protect national heritage 14/12/2018 07:38:37
Accredited US Ambassador to Haiti Michèle Sison, announced a grant of $24,500 to Le Centre d’Art for the restoration of 8 national heritage paintings and storage facilities. This grant is from the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) established by the U.S. Congress in 2001 to support the preservation of cultural sites, cultural objects, and forms of traditional cultural expression around the world. Let's recall that since 2002, Haiti has received over $700,000 in grants to fund nine unique cultural heritage preservation projects around the country. In September, the U.S. Embassy also announced an award for a $200,000 grant to the Fondation Maison Gauthier for the restoration and rehabilitation of the former home of Viviane Gauthier. The U.S. remains a strong partner with Haiti in preserving Haiti’s past and investing in Haiti’s future. IH/ iciHaiti
