Tuesday, as part of the commemoration in Haiti of the 215th anniversary of the declaration of its independence from French colonialism, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this event with a short message posted on his Twitter account.

"We salute the brotherly people of Haiti, which commemorates 215 years of independence. It is in Haiti that our liberator Simon Bolivar found support in the most difficult moments of the struggle for the independence of America.

Haiti has the solidarity of Venezuela !"
