iciHaiti - Social : Death of the musician Frantz Courtois
Frantz Courtois Alias "Fanfan" one of the great names of Haitian music suddenly left us Tuesday, January 8 at the age of 70, following a serious fall, followed by post-operative complications.

A jovial man, friendly and in love with Haitian music, Courtois was one of the pioneers of jazz in Haiti and knew how to mark generations. Musician by excellence, Frantz occupied an important place in the gallery of the musicians of the 60s and 70s. He directed his orchestra and the Big Band Grand Orchester of Fanfan Courtois and animated with passion for several years, the Métro Rétro program on Radio Métropole.

Jean Michel Lapin, Minister of Culture "extends his deepest condolences to the members of his grieving family, his close associates, and his deep sympathy with the cultural sector in general, struck by this disappearance."
