iciHaiti - Economy : Haitian delegation of the private sector in Washington D.C.
At the invitation of the Haitian Industry Association (ADIH), a Haitian delegation composed of Mrs. Tessa Jacques, Director General of the Center for Investment Facilitation (CFI), Georges Sassine President of the ADIH, and Lionel Delatour ADIH's consultant went to Washington to meet with personalities, influence groups and members of the US Congress to discuss the renewal of the Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA).

Recall that the CBTPA is a law adopted by the US Government effective October 1, 2000 that aims to facilitate the economic development and export diversification of the economies of the Caribbean Basin. The CBTPA's objective is to stimulate the development of the textile industry and regional trade integration and grant trade preferences to Haiti and duty-free entry for a large number of Haitian products into the US market.

The CBTPA is in effect until September 30, 2020.
