On Friday, as part of the fight against human smuggling, the Guatemalan National Civil Police (PNC) announced that officers of the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Organized Crime Investigation Department had arrested 43 migrants (14 Hondurans and 29 Haitians, including 10 children) in the municipality of Quezaltepeque Chiquimula in northern Guatemala (and southern Mexico).

Pablo Castillo, spokesman for the PNC, said the officers gave them humanitarian support by offering them water, food and care, before transferring them to Migration Services to decide their situation in Guatemala.
