Haiti - Politic : Arrest of 4 students, the Rectorate defends itself
Yesterday Sunday, the Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (RUEH), in a note condemned "energetically this dangerous and false propaganda, according to which, he would have ordered the judicial authorities to incarcerate four of the people who participated in the demonstration [about a hundred students from the State University of Haiti], Friday, October 25 last [calling for the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse].

No authority of the Rectorate communicated with either the police or the prosecution on this case, whose it doesn't knows the ins and outs.

The Rectorate invites the competent authorities to respect the rights of the persons concerned under the laws and conventions in force."

Note that yesterday the four students were still in prison despite a release order signed by a justice of peace. Opposition leaders accuse the Government Commissioner of obstructing justice.

Also, the French Embassy whose premises were the subject of Saturday, October 26 violent attacks without any justification, strongly rejects the rumors totally unfounded, according to which it would have asked for the arrest of students participating in a demonstration.
