On Friday, at the binational market of the border town of Dajabón, a large influx of merchants and Dominican and Haitian customers was oberved, while there is a relative lull in Haiti.

From the beginning of the day, several hundred Haitians went to the market to sell and buy all kinds of products.

Throughout the day, thousands of transactions took place without major incident, but under the strict vigilance of the heavily armed Dominican soldiers who maintain the order and fight against the almost permanent attempts of illegal crossing of the border by Haitian citizens.
