Dominican soldiers arrested in the border town of Pedro Santana (South West) in the province of Elías Piña in the Dominican Republic, a Dominican citizen and two Haitian nationals who were trying to smuggle stolen items into Haiti. At the time of the arrest, the 2 Haitians tried in vain to escape from the Dominican soldiers.

According to information provided by the authorities, the Dominican identified as César Aquino was arrested with two Haitian nationals : Emmanuel Franklin and Alexander Anistel, while they were preparing to cross the border with a Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4x4 vehicle, listed as stolen in the National Police register.
