iciHaiti - Justice : Upcoming opening of 18 Legal Aid Offices
On February 27 and 28, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Haiti) via the Access to Justice project, funded by "UN Peacebuilding" supported the workshop to validate the tools to be used for the operation and control of Legal Assistance Offices (BAL) which will soon be open in 18 jurisdictions in Haiti.
Through this project, the UNDP and its partners, notably the Ministry of Justice, the Office for the Protection of the Citizen, "UN Peacebuilding", Avocats Sans Frontières Canada, UNICEF-Haiti, UN Women-Haiti and the Integrated Office of the United Nations in Haiti (BINUH) are collaborating to strengthen access to justice for the most vulnerable litigants.
