iciHaiti - Literature: Award ceremony of the «Joseph D. Charles Prize»

The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) informs that the awarding ceremony of the «Joseph D. Charles Prize» won by the Rector economist, professor and writer Fritz Deshommes, will be held on Friday March 6, 2020 in the Gardens of the Georges Castera Library in Limbé in the Department of the North.

The "Joseph D. Charles Prize 2019" was awarded by a jury made up of eminent intellectual and scientific personalities of the country, to the Rector of the UEH for his work scientifiques du pays, au Recteur de l’UEH pour son ouvrage "Haïti : La Nation écartelée" (under the title Entre "plan américain" et "Projet national" published by Cahiers Universitaires.

It should be noted that the "Joseph D. Charles Prize" was created in 2002 by the Georges Castera du Limbé Library in memory of Joseph D. Charles considered as a great Haitian intellectual, born in Limbé. Several Haitian authors have already won this award, including Lyonel Trouillot, Frankétienne, Yanick Lahens, Pierre Josué Agenor Cadet, Dieudonné Fardin and others.
