The specialized body for the security of land borders (Cesfront) handed over to the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) 300,000 packets of contraband cigarettes of the Capital and Point brand from Haiti seized during 4 simultaneous operations (in collaboration with the D2, G2, M2, the National Police and the DGA): 137,000 packages in Dajabón, 44,600 in Elias Piña, 113,000 in Jimaní and 5,000 in Pedernales)

In addition, in recent days, the Cesfront has dealt serious smuggling of cigarettes along the border. Recently in Puerto Plata (North Coast), an operation made it possible to intercept more than 600,000 packets of cigarettes from Haiti which had been brought into Dominican territory in two vehicles, the drivers of which were arrested.
