iciHaiti - Road safety : 15 accidents at least 44 victims

Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from March 9 to 15, 2020, 15 road accidents on the national territory made at least 44 victims : 3 dead and 41 injured, including several seriously.

Nazon, Canapé-Vert, Street of Labadee, Lizon, Archaie, Route 9, Street Monseigneur Guilloux and Portail Léogâne among others, are the main comunes and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident means, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads while continuing to ask the authorities concerned to take measures to reduce the risk of accidents on public roads and better behavior of drivers on the roads.
