iciHaiti - Road safety : 18 accidents, at least 37 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from March 16 to 22, 2020, 18 road accidents on the national territory (+ 20% compared to the previous week) at least 37 victims (-15.9%): 2 dead (-33%) and 36 injured (-12.2%) including several seriously.

Léogâne, Canapé-vert, Arcahaie, Limonade, Nazon, Thor 65, Limbé, Aquin, Camp-Perrin among others, are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Recall that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident means, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads while continuing to ask the authorities concerned to take measures to reduce the risk of accidents on public roads and better behavior of drivers on the roads.
