Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from March 30 to April 5, 2020, 24 road accidents on the national territory (+ 33% compared to the previous week) made at least 33 victims (+ 26.9% https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-30408-icihaiti-road-safety-18-accident-at-least-26-victims.html ): 2 dead (-50%) and 31 injured (+ 4.9%) including several seriously.

Hinche, Camp-Périn, Carrefour Charles (Jérémie), in L'Estère, on route 9, in Delmas 32, in Léogâne, in Montrouis, in Barrière Battant on the road of Milotentre among others... are the main communes and zones where these accidents have been recorded.

Recall that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident means, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads while continuing to ask the authorities concerned to take measures to reduce the risk of accidents on public roads and better behavior of drivers on the roads.
