iciHaiti - Death : The drum of «Ti Do», silent for eternity
Pradel Henriquez Minister of Culture has learned with emotion, the sad news of the death of renowned drummer Joseph Wilfrid Lavaud aka "Ti Do".

"Ti Do made the long journey to the beyond this Friday, May 8, 2020 at OFATMA hospital, where he was admitted, 22 days after the disappearance of his partner Annette Auguste 'Sò Ann'".

Drum player, radio man, Joseph Wilfrid Lavaud had an excellent knowledge of traditional Haitian music. We still remember his intervention on the typically musical aspect of rara as a cultural phenomenon, during a series of conference-shows organized by the National Bureau of Ethnology on rhythms and rare dances in May 2011.

Minister Henriquez, while bowing to the body of the deceased, presents his sympathies to his family, relatives and all his friends.
