As part of the UN Women project "Fanm nan Agrikilti de Devlopman Ekonomi Ayiti" (FADEKA) and in order to support national efforts to fight and raise awareness against the Covid-19 coronavirus, the UN organization has distributed prevention kits.

These kits were given to women heads of households or mothers living / working in remote areas of the South Department (Port-Salut, Saint-Jean du Sud, Chantal, Roche-à-Bateau and Torbeck).

In the Grand’Anse department, prevention kits have been distributed in two municipalities (Corail and Pestel). On the other hand, the departmental coordination of the Ministry for the Status of Women (Department of the South as well as of Grand’Anse) were also provided.

A distribution also took place in the department of the West in support of the Direction of the Penitentiary Administration (DAP) which was given kits of prevention Covid-19 and hygiene. These kits are intended for women and girls in prison who benefit from thanks to the "Improving conditions of detention" project within the framework of the implementation of the Gender Directive of the DAP. This project is funded by the European Union (EU).
