iciHaiti - IOM : Training on the management of vulnerable migrants faced Covid-19
The Protection Team of the International Organization for Migration (IOM-Haiti) organized this week three training sessions on the management of vulnerable migrants in connection with the Covid-19 response in the cities of Ouanaminthe, Belladère and Cap-Haitien.

These trainings allowed 25 people to deepen their knowledge on the identification and referral of vulnerable migrants' cases and the risks linked to the coronavirus context, the importance of community engagement and prevention against exploitation and sexual abuse, while respecting appropriate security measures.

The training served to strengthen the capacities of the National Office for Migration (ONM), in the protection and reception of vulnerable migrants. The participation of other local Protection actors present at the border such as agents from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBESR) and the Brigade for the Protection of Minors (BPM) contributed to the full success of this training.

These actions are part of the "Improving protection for better assistance to vulnerable migrants in Haiti" project funded by the European Union Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid (ECHO).
