Thousands of pilgrims and curious people from all over Haiti have gathered at Saut d'Eau (Dept of the Center) aka the "City of Happiness" for the celebration (July 16) of the patronal feast of the Virgin of Mount Carmel nicknamed the "Miracle Virgin" because of the many favors that certain pilgrims receive...

This patronal feast, located in the Center department, is an unmissable cultural event and an opportunity for believers of all religions to come and bathe in the Great Leap with "miraculous" virtues which gives its name to the city. Pilgrims whether vodouisants, catholic or protestant come to thank the Blessed Virgin Miracle or one of the lwa (voodoo spirit) and to make other requests

This year again, a huge crowd took the city by storm, masses, fairs, rara, voodoo ceremony, swimming, all people engaged in festive or religious activities...

However, few people wore masks or applied distancing measures to avoid the spread of Covid-19... Representatives of the Ministry of Tourism on the spot distributed masks and sensitized the pilgrims, who had the head at the party and very far from the epidemic…
