The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services for Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of December 7 to 13, 2020, 24 accidents on the national territory (-70.8% compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32478-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-41-accidents-102-victims.html , made at least 67 victims (-38%): 4 deaths (-70%) including 2 motorcycle taxi drivers and 63 injured (-29%), several of them seriously.

Thiotte, Nazon, Morne cabrit, Lalue, Pèlerin 2, Cabaret, Martissant 3, Léogâne, route des rails, Gommier (RN7), Aquin, Fonds Parisien among others, are the main towns and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of financial resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service and invites road users to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
