iciHaiti - Disabled : Results of the study on training and employment opportunities
Carried out as part of the "Project to improve access to social services and employment for the benefit of people with disabilities", the first results of the study on training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities, funded by the World Bank and the Government of Japan, reveals that : Most companies say they are open to hiring people with disabilities. The companies that recruit people with disabilities are mostly large or medium-sized companies.

The training courses, for which there is a sustained demand for employment are :

a) The main short-term training courses (3 to 6 months) that can lead disabled adults to rapid employment relate to manual trades such as cutting / sewing (manual and industrial); handling industrial machines (especially those used in textiles); professional services (repair services for electronic devices, telephone and household appliances) and customer service (welcoming and customers orientation).

b) Sectors of activity such as textiles, telecommunications, tourism, hotels and restaurants, services and production / distribution concern large or medium-sized companies.

c) The job offers available globally on the labor market concern the professionals in marketing, management, logistics, security, communication, hospitality and tourism.
