Pradel Henriquez, the Minister of Culture informs the Haitian population as a whole and the international community, that the "Technique of traditional production and consumption of Haitian cassava" is officially registered, on January 18, 2021, in the national register of Haitian national cultural heritage.

In accordance with article 215 of the Constitution and in application of articles 1 and 2 of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which convention entered into force on December 17, 2009, after its ratification by the Haitian Parliament of a on the one hand, and in accordance with the letter and the spirit of the decree of October 12, 2005 establishing the "Haitian Bureau of Copyright (BHDA)" on the other hand, the "Traditional production and consumption technique of cassave Haitian" is now protected by Haitian laws.

Consequently, any commercial exploitation is subject to the legal provisions governing the matter.
