The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services for Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of January 18 to 24, 2021, 18 accidents on the national territory (-41.9% compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32808-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-31-accidents-at-least-73-victims.html , killed at least 49 victims (-32.8%): 8 dead (- 20%) including 5 in the same accident and 41 injured (-34.9%) including several seriously.

Fontamara 45, Morne Cabrit, Carrefour Pois (RN2), Vivy Mitchell, Grand-Goâve, Bourjolly (Camp-Perrin), Tabarre 48, Aquin, L'Estère, Péguy-ville, are the main communes and zones where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of financial resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen preventive measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service.In addition, the Organization invites road users to keep responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
