iciHaiti - Agriculture : Minister Sévère's tour in Grand-Anse
Agronomist Patrix Sévère Minister of Agriculture made a 3-day tour (May 10 to 12, 2021) in the department of Grand-Anse.

During his visits he was accompanied by Dr Haim Corvil Joseph, Coordinator of the Health Protection Unit of the Ministry, Robert Vladimir Potgony Jean Departmental Director of Agriculture of Grand-Anse, veterinary surgeons and the authorities of this department.

This tour aimed to assess the progress of the work launched by the government to open up 10 km of dirt road at the level of the 1st communal section of Matador, in particular in the locality of Galette Potonier (commune of Les Irois), vaccinate a few heads of cattle at the level of several communes and discussing with farmers and fishermen's associations on the conditions for strengthening these sectors.

The opportunity for Patrix Sévère to take note of the grievances and concerns of fishermen and farmers and to present the efforts made by his administration in favor of these two branches of activity.

In his statements, Minister Sevère underlined "We are here to inquire about the progress of the work launched by the government to open up a few kilometers of road in the 1st communal section of Matador [...] the opening up of this section communal, is the sign of President Jovenel Moise's desire to facilitate access to the inhabitants of this locality, while raising the agricultural potential of this section which has been underexploited for too long."

Recalling that this work will facilitate trade easier, and is a promise of the Head of State's election campaign.
