The National Ambulance Center (CAN) has communicated us its statistical report relating to the pre-hospital care of the various emergency cases carried out during the month of May 2021.

Of the 1,423 cases handled by the CAN in May 2021 (+28.08% compared to the previous month https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-33688-icihaiti-health-review-of-the-national-ambulance-center-april-2021.html), 23% were obstetric emergencies, 15% road accidents and 13% chronic diseases various pathologies.

This report reveals that the CAN intervened in :

68 cases of respiratory distress;

177 cases of chronic disease;

326 obstetric emergencies;

205 transfers (referrals and laboratory examinations);

144 various ailments (Discomfort, diarrhea, fever, anemia, abdominal pain, etc...)

In addition, CAN intervened in 219 road accidents, 16 gunshot wounds, 21 stab wounds, 63 head injuries and 19 burn cases, as well as 118 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 47 suspected cases.

693 interventions took place in the West, 134 in Artibonite, 75 in the North/North-East, 106 in the North-West, 115 in the South, 138 without the South-East, 3 in the Center, 98 in Grand'Anse and 61 in Nippes.
