In Cap-Haitien, to prepare the population for a possible earthquake, certain measures will be taken by the municipal authorities in the short and medium term.

Among these provisions, the installation of several hundred signs on the seismic threat, micro-zoning, training of city firefighters, assessment and strengthening of public buildings, training in construction of earthquake-resistant buildings for certain professionals including engineers, foremen and masons, raising awareness at all levels of the population on the seismic threat and on the behavior to adopt in the event of an earthquake followed by a tsunami.
