Act of renunciation :

"Considering the law governing the matter,

Considering that it is necessary to waive the action of relinquishment of the Court of Appeal of Port-au-Prince of the knowledge of the case in Habeas corpus opposing the named Arnel Bélizaire, Pierre Killick Cémélus, Jean Pierre Fleuret, Philémond Garry, Estril Mackenson and Paul Joanel to the Public Prosecutor's Office introduced to the Court of Cassation by request dated January 11, 2021;

Consequently, the commissioner intends to renounce and as in fact hereby renounce the said action. Of which act."

Reacting to this decision Me André Michel, Spokesman for the radical opposition of the "Democratic and Popular Sector" declared, "The decision of the prosecutor's office of the Court of Appeal to renounce its action for relinquishment in the File of political prisoners is in accordance with individual liberty and this will facilitate their release [...]"
