The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the North (CCIN) is pleased with the new decision of the Government to dispatch a diesel barge with a capacity of 45,000 barrels for the supply of the North region, thus making it possible to bypass the blockage of oil terminals by the G9 gang coalition.

"A laudable initiative and decision to curb this shortage which is causing an economic wreck affecting members of all sectors of regional life : hotels, schools, gas stations, the functioning of morgues, hospitals and health centers.

Indeed, this shortage [...] is not only a major threat to the economy but also to the physical security of the region [...]" declared Steve A. Mathieu President of the CCIN.

Note that following an agreement between the Office for the Monetization of Development Assistance Programs (BMPAD) and "West Indies Petroleum Limited" (WIPL), a bunkering and fuel company, WIPL deployed 2 supply barges in diesel fuels, one in the North and the other in the South with a capacity of 27,500 barrels.
