iciHaiti - Bahamas : 36 Haitian boat-people arrested on Windermere Island

Police in Eleuthera, Bahamas, arrested 36 Haitian migrants (25 men, 10 women and one female minor) for illegal disembarkation after a sloop was reported sailing near Windemere Island.
Upon arrival, police discovered the stranded Haitian sloop empty of its passengers, however a number of illegal immigrants were seen escaping to shore, Deputy Police Superintendent Audley Peters said.
The agents went ashore and with the help of the residents, arrested 36 Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory situation.
