iciHaiti - PNH : Hijacking of truck foiled, bandit killed

Agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) of the South Departmental Directorate, as part of an intervention carried out on the night of Wednesday, January 12, 2022, around 11:40 p.m., during routine checks, caught in flagrante delicto an armed individual erecting barricades in Morne Oranger, (commune of Saint-Louis du Sud) who was preparing with his accomplices to hijack trucks and then loot them.
The thug identified as Dorothée Lavéus seeing the police patrol did not hesitate with his accomplices to open fire on the police who immediately responded. In the exchange of fire Lavéus was mortally wounded, his accomplices managed to flee.
Note that Lavéus according to the intelligence services of the PNH, had numerous complaints against him, including armed robbery and several other offenses punishable by law.
