Bernard Mevs Hospital, one of the main hospitals in Haiti, in support of the Haitian Pediatric Society, to protest against the kidnapping of pediatrician Benetty Augustin since May 5, 2022 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36599-haiti-news-zapping.html despite the payment of a ransom, informs the public in a note that its doors will be closed

"Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May [...] An emergency cell will be open only for extreme emergencies. We are tired of being preyed of kidnappers, while we risk our lives to save others".

Last minute : we have just learned that the kidnappers have granted until Saturday, May 21 to the family of Dr. Bennety Augustin to pay a second ransom of 2.5 million gourdes and 10,000 US dollars amount that the family is unable to collect.
