Saturday July 9, 2022, as part of the fight against organized crime, the National Police of Haiti (PNH), carried out an operation early in the morning in the Torcelle zone.

Planned by the Departmental Directorate West II, this operation was carried out by several specialized units of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ), including the Research and Investigation Brigade (BRI) and the Brigade for the Fight against thefts of Vehicles (BLVV).

Faced with this deployment of special units, armed individuals opened fire on the police who immediately responded.

Faced with the intensity of the exchanges of fire, the bandits fled, leaving one of their mortally wounded on the spot...

In addition, the continuation of this operation in the same area enabled the police to proceed with the recovery of two hostages, including a 15-year-old boy, who had been kidnapped the same morning in Pernier.

The released hostages were safely brought to the DCPJ to await their release to their family members.
