Repair works on the bridge over the Rouyonne river in Léogâne was launched on Tuesday July 19, 2022 on the instructions of engineer Rosemond Pradel, Minister of Public Works.

Let's remember that the collapse of a large part of the bridge deck on Friday, July 8, 2022 during the passage of trucks is the cause of this repair.

Built in 2005, this infrastructure has already undergone several repairs in 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2020. This bridge serves 4 departments : South, South-East, Nippes and Grand'Anse.

Ministry technicians are working actively to repair as quickly as possible the 13 damaged deck plates out of the 77 in total.

In addition, provisions are being considered by Minister Pradel to find ways and means to build another more modern bridge capable of receiving all types of traffic.
