Several heavily armed individuals from the Savien gang (Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite), who were heading towards a beach, crossed paths with a patrol from the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO). These individuals immediately opened fire on the police who returned fire.

Goliath, Kebreau and Vernet, thus known, are 3 dangerous members of Savien's gang, who were mortally wounded in exchanges of fire with the Police. Firearms were seized.

In retaliation, several members of this gang tried in vain to storm the police station of Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite. However, thanks to a synergy between the police officers of the Artibonite department, agents of the UDMO of Saint-Marc were sent as reinforcements to rout these bandits, maintain public order and reinforce the police presence in the commune.
