iciHaiti - Social assistance : Hundreds of millions of Gourdes transferred to the poorest
As part of the Government's Emergency Program aimed at social appeasement, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) on behalf of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor carried out monetary transfer operations for the benefit of heads of families both in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince and in the provincial towns. This third intervention served 29,787 households. Each head of family received via the MonCash platform 3,105 Gourdes, particularly in Carrefour, Port-au-Prince, Delmas, Maniche, Camp Coq, Milot, La Victoire, Lers Cayes, Les Irois, Cabaret, Cap-Haitien, Petit-Goâve, etc...
This social assistance program comprising a "Cash Transfer" component is coordinated by the Prime Minister and will continue in order to relieve the misery of the country's vulnerable strata.
By the end of the 2021-2022 fiscal year (September 30), 3 times 50,000 households will receive 3,105 Gdes. Also, 171 community restaurants will be restocked with dry food and 210,000 food kits distributed nationwide.
