Friday, September 2nd, 2022, during a police operation carried out jointly by agents of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) and the Office for the Fight against Narcotics Trafficking (BLTS) in the South in Baie Dumesles (section commune of Saint-Louis-du-Sud) two drug traffickers were killed.

Michel Sénat alias "Pèpè" and "Ti-Rasta" thus known tried to flee and opened fire on the police. They were fatally injured in the exchange of fire with the police. Two assault rifles were seized including a 5.56mm caliber M16.
