iciHaiti - Drinking Water : Signing of an agreement between UNICEF and DINEPA
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the National Directorate for Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) have signed a technical assistance protocol for the construction of water and sanitation infrastructure in rural areas and peri-urban.
The Phase 1 of this support, lasting three years, is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to the tune of 9 million US dollars. Through the four Regional Office for Drinking Water and Sanitation (OREPA), DINEPA will build drinking water networks and carry out activities related to sanitation and hygiene in rural and peri-urban areas.
The objective of the project is to guarantee access to water and promote good hygiene and sanitation practices for Haitian children and their families.
