iciHaiti - OIF : Louise Mushikiwabo concerned about the evolution of the situation in Haiti
Louise Mushikiwabo Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) follows with concern the development of the humanitarian and security situation in Haiti and strongly condemns the persistence of acts of looting and violent demonstrations, recorded for several months on the whole country, in a context where the living conditions of the population are deteriorating in a worrying way.

"I would like to express my full solidarity as well as that of the entire Francophone family with the Haitian people who have endured for a long time multifaceted difficulties that are aggravated by the humanitarian crisis that is looming. All efforts, national and international, must be urgently mobilized to support the Haitian people in order to limit their suffering and avoid a large-scale humanitarian disaster,é declared the Secretary-General.

Louise Mushikiwabo invites the national authorities and all national actors to create, as soon as possible, the conditions for resuming the delivery of basic necessities and fuel for the operation of health services, and for the supply of drinking water to all the country's vital infrastructure.
