iciHaiti - Security : Taiwan helps Haiti obtain bulletproof vests for its police

Tuesday, October 24, 2022, as security in Haiti deteriorates a little more each day, the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Taiwan (Republic of China) was helping Haiti to purchase personal protective equipment such as bullet-proof vests from Taiwanese manufacturers.
Ministry spokeswoman Joanne Ou said the aid was "intended to strengthen the capacity of the Haitian police to carry out their tasks and respond to calls from the international community and like-minded countries to improve public security in Haiti"
In addition, Joanne Ou said that the Taiwanese Embassy in Haiti was functioning normally but that the Diplomatic Mission would make "adjustments" depending on the situation.
