iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : Special correctional hearings, more than 90 prisoners released
Me Pierre Paul Elioth, the Government Commissioner of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Petit-Goâve, presented the results of the special correctional hearings which took place from September 25 to Friday November 18, 2022 :

These hearings, which were organized with the aim of combating prolonged preventive detention, led to the release of more than 90 prisoners.

Correction hearings : 38 cases heard

Releases :
Correctional freedoms: 46
Simple freedoms (freedoms at the level of the Public Prosecutor's Office) / withdrawal and classification without follow-up: 20
Liberties (dismissal): 7
Liberties (raised hand): 5
Habeas corpus: 2
Release of convicts who have served their sentence: 6

Note: 6 other prisoners who had already served their sentence, still in prison, were also released by the prosecution.

In addition, Me Pierre Paul Elioth, announced the opening of the Criminal Assizes without the assistance of a Jury from Monday, November 28. About twenty files in a state to receive judgment will be heard.

In addition, he informed that 20 other files intended for the Assizes Criminals with assistance of Jury were ready, but for lack of means, these files could not be referred by in front of the court.
